Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Reliable Bathroom Remodeling (a division of Reliable Construction And Remodeling), we are committed to transparency, fair dealing, and the highest standards of customer service. Because we provide professional design and construction services — not physical products — our refund and cancellation policy is tailored to protect both our homeowners and our team. This policy applies to design/blueprint services, construction contracts, deposits, and any payments made toward your bathroom remodeling project.

We encourage every client to read this policy carefully before signing a consultation agreement or construction contract. Our practices align with BBB standards for service-based businesses, ensuring clear communication and reasonable recourse.

Design & Blueprint Service – Refundability

We offer professional 3D design and architectural blueprint services at a flat fee: $2,500 for regular bathrooms and $3,000 for master bathrooms.

• If you sign a construction contract with Reliable Bathroom Remodeling for the same project within 30 days of receiving the final design, the design fee is 100% refundable (credited toward your project).
• If you decide not to proceed with us for construction, the design fee is non-refundable. However, you retain full ownership of the blueprints and 3D renderings for use with any licensed contractor.
• No partial refunds are issued for design services once the consultation and measurements have been completed.

Construction Contract – Deposits & Progress Payments

After you approve a project proposal, a signed construction contract will outline the total price, scope, and payment schedule. Typical payment terms include:

• Deposit (30–50%): Required to reserve materials, secure permits, and schedule labor. This deposit is non-refundable once materials have been ordered or significant labor has been allocated (usually within 5 business days of signing).
• Progress payments: Based on milestones (e.g., demolition, rough-in, tile installation). These are earned upon completion of each phase and are non-refundable.
• Final payment: Due upon substantial completion, before final walkthrough.

All payments are clearly stated in your contract. We do not charge hidden fees.

Cancellation by Homeowner (Right to Rescind)

Illinois law provides a 3-business-day cooling-off period for home repair contracts signed in your home. You may cancel any construction contract without penalty within 3 business days of signing, for a full refund of any deposit paid. After that period, cancellations are subject to the following:

• Cancellation before materials ordered / labor scheduled: Refund of deposit minus a 10% administrative fee.
• Cancellation after materials ordered but before installation begins: Refund of deposit minus the cost of any non-returnable, custom, or special-order materials (receipts provided).
• Cancellation after work has commenced: You are responsible for the value of work completed and materials used. Any overpayment will be refunded; no additional refunds for work already performed.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing (email or certified mail) to info@reliablebathroomremodeling.com.

Cancellation by Reliable Bathroom Remodeling

We reserve the right to cancel a project if:

• Necessary permits cannot be obtained due to code violations or property restrictions not disclosed by the homeowner.
• Unforeseen structural issues (e.g., severe rot, foundation problems) make the project impossible or unsafe to complete within the agreed budget, and the homeowner declines a revised proposal.
• The homeowner fails to provide access, payments, or decisions as required by the contract, causing unreasonable delay.

In such cases, we will refund any unused portion of payments (materials not yet ordered, labor not yet performed) and provide an itemized accounting.

Change Orders & Scope Adjustments

If you wish to modify the scope of work after the contract is signed, we will issue a change order with revised pricing. Change orders must be signed by both parties before any additional work begins. Once signed, change order amounts are non-refundable.

Warranty & Workmanship Corrections

We stand behind our work with a 60-month (5-year) labor warranty. If any workmanship defect arises during that period, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you. This warranty is not a refund mechanism — it is a repair remedy. Refunds are not offered for workmanship issues that can be corrected.

Manufacturer warranties on fixtures, cabinets, tiles, and appliances are passed through to the homeowner. We will assist in filing claims but are not responsible for manufacturer defects beyond our installation.

Force Majeure & Delays

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: supplier backorders, weather, labor disputes, utility interruptions, or government actions. In such cases, we will work to resume work as soon as possible. No refunds are issued solely for delays.

Dispute Resolution & BBB Standards

We follow the Better Business Bureau’s Code of Business Practices, which emphasizes honesty, transparency, and responsiveness. If you believe we have not complied with this Refund & Cancellation Policy, please contact us immediately. We will attempt to resolve the matter in good faith through direct negotiation.

If a resolution cannot be reached, either party may pursue binding arbitration in Cook County, Illinois, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
